Overview

If you're seeking to understand and address the underlying causes of various health issues, Dr. Rachel can help. She investigates and educates on conditions such as:

  • Gut Health: Including inflammatory bowel conditions, IBS, and food sensitivities.

  • Mental Well-being: Addressing stress, depression, anxiety, psychosis, autism, cognitive impairment, ADHD, and chronic fatigue.

  • Physical Health: Such as MCAS, histamine intolerance, mycotoxicosis, and POTS.

Dr. Rachel's approach considers that many physical and mental health symptoms can be driven by factors like nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, environmental toxins, blue light toxicity, impaired mitochondrial function, gut dysbiosis, and low redox potential, alongside hormonal imbalances and nervous system dysregulation. She emphasizes that while medications often target symptoms, they may not resolve these underlying drivers and can sometimes contribute to metabolic imbalances that ironically worsen conditions like insulin resistance and mitochondrial dysfunction, which are implicated in mental health.

Bio

Dr. Rachel, a 2003 medicine graduate from the University of Edinburgh (UK) and a certified Functional Medical Practitioner, specializes in treating gut, autoimmune and mental health symptoms. She also has a passion for treating POTs and MCAS following her own experience of mold-related symptoms. Her holistic approach emphasizes understanding the body as a whole to address the root causes of illness and empower individuals to take control of their health. Together, she collaborates with patients to develop personalized wellness plans that optimize health and resilience, considering their unique circumstances and lifestyle. With a Master's degree in Medical Law and Ethics from the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Rachel is deeply committed to medical ethics and believes in the doctor's role as an educator, enabling informed patient choices. Dr. Rachel is a member of the British Society for Ecological Medicine and the Institute for Functional Medicine, and is a Nutrition Network Advisor.
